The purpose behind the pages

Closer to the Word.
Closer to the people.

The Word in View began with a father’s hope and grew into an invitation to experience Scripture with renewed attention.

Meet the creator

Brandon Clayton

Father of four daughters. Bible teacher. Author. Educator.

Brandon saw his daughters become absorbed in graphic novels and wanted to help them connect with Scripture through that same visual engagement. The Word in View grew from that desire.

His background in ministry and mathematics education brings together two enduring commitments: understanding Scripture and helping people learn.

For the young reader discovering Scripture. For the adult who learns by seeing. For the family opening its Bible together.

Real people in real places.

The people of Scripture experienced hunger, work, uncertainty, grief, courage, and hope. The images are designed to help readers engage with those events as lived human experiences.

Photographic historical realism serves that purpose. Believable faces, clothing, landscapes, and expressions help the reader pause and consider what it meant to be there.

The words remain the foundation.

Every visual interpretation is guided by the biblical passage. Scripture quotations, narration, supported dialogue, and Kingdom Thread reflections play distinct roles. Readers are encouraged to keep returning to the complete passage itself.

The artwork is created with AI assistance and editorial direction. It is reviewed for Scripture alignment, visual continuity, cultural context, and modesty. It represents an artistic reconstruction of the setting; it is not historical photographic evidence. Yahweh is not depicted in human form.

One unfolding kingdom.

Genesis begins with God’s rule and humanity’s calling to bear His image. Abraham’s family carries a promise of blessing for the nations. Exodus follows their descendants from another king’s dominion toward covenant and Yahweh’s presence.

Leviticus continues with the call to draw near, worship, and live in holiness with Yahweh among His people. The Kingdom Thread helps readers follow those connections through the series, deepening their understanding of Yahweh’s purpose across Scripture.

A series with room to grow.

Genesis, Exodus, and Leviticus are now available in The Word in View. Its wider vision embraces Scripture across its different genres, allowing the visual approach to serve each book’s own form and purpose.
