Illustrative scene · Let a shared scene begin a conversation around Scripture.

At home

Read a passage together. Notice the scene. Ask what the text reveals about Yahweh, His people, and their response.

With young readers

Invite observation before explanation. Use expressions and settings to begin questions, then check those observations against Scripture.

In a Bible study

Follow the Kingdom Thread across passages. Discuss the connections between calling, covenant, obedience, and Yahweh’s presence.

A simple place to start

One scene. One passage.
A conversation together.

Try a short reading time at the table, with a grandchild, or in your group. No preparation beyond a book and a Bible is needed.

  1. Look together. What do you notice about the people, place, and choices in the scene?
  2. Read the referenced passage. What does the biblical text say? Which details are shown by the artist, and which are stated in Scripture?
  3. Invite every voice. What does this passage reveal about Yahweh? How do the people respond? What question would you like to explore further?
  4. Return to the Word. Read the Kingdom Thread, check its connections in Scripture, and choose when to read together again.

“When you sit in your house” and “when you walk by the way”: Deuteronomy 6:6–7 offers a picture of sharing Yahweh’s words within ordinary family life.
